Native of San Diego California. Rich Turner has been working in feature animation for over 25 years. He is best known as Head of Layout on Spiderman Into the Spider-verse & Across the Spider-verse and all the other Verses.
Little Ricky was raised on the mean streets of San Diego California. Where he learned how to fight off attackers with art., being an avid drawer he sketched his way out of many conflicts. This all ended tragically when he chopped off his damn hand! What a dummy. Ricky turned down a race car at age 16yr to the great disappointment of his family. Lost and nowhere to go he decided to embrace his love of art and film. Seeking fulfillment Ricky wandered the waste land as a frustrated artist when a chance encounter with colorization led him to animation and working in London for a Spielberg/Universal Animation project.
finally after many sleepless nights Ricky decided to go to Los Angeles and brave the underbelly of the movie business in Burbank CA.
A born leader meets Dawn Steele & Ted Turner in an elevator and learns Cats don't actually dance then escaped from Warner Bros. and joined the VFX compositing team for Sony Imageworks he excelled like no other but hated it so very much. Separated from the creative end of film making Ricky decided to work for DreamWorks to their great relief. This led to a string of amazing projects that no one could have predicted. Mega hits, Mega bombs, and Oscars flying at him like candy from heaven. All very much deserved.
Rich Turner is currently working on many secret cool projects that must remain behind the iron curtain of paranoia and lawyers.
